Because I’m in the UK, I had to wait for their local working hours just to get any reply — and when they finally did respond, they offered to give me a disk image backup only if I paid USD 25.
My explanations and screenshots of their own TOS were ignored. Only after I pushed back did they offer to generate a disk image for USD 25. I paid the fee expecting a usable backup, but the delivered image required expensive, high-skill recovery work and several hours of effort to extract the files. In short: a simple, reasonable request to retrieve my backups turned into a costly, time-consuming ordeal that Shinjiru caused.
If you claim to provide offshore hosting, then act like it — protect your customers instead of blindly trusting every fake abuse report. In my case, they chose the easiest route: suspend first, refuse discussion, and push the burden onto the customer.
Shinjiru’s handling of this situation was unprofessional, dismissive, and completely against the spirit of what an offshore host is supposed to stand for. I do not recommend trusting them with any important project or data.
