Spamhaus listing affected my email service, and OVH offered no practical solution
I’m an OVH VPS customer and use my server to host email for my work. During this issue, some of my emails were rejected and others went to spam. A rej
...ection notice said the mail was blocked by Spamhaus.
Spamhaus explained that it had listed a shared IPv6 range because one or more addresses in it had sent spam. The address it cited is not assigned to my VPS. Public DNS associates it with another OVH VPS, suggesting that another OVH customer’s service in the shared range may be affecting my email delivery.
I contacted OVH support and asked them to investigate and provide a practical solution. The ticket was marked Priority 4 – Low. About two days after I opened it, OVH said it could not influence or speed up the delisting process. Six days after I opened it, OVH said, “There is a team working on clearing the reputation of OVHcloud IPv6 ranges. We can not provide you with any solution to this problem now.” That gave me no resolution or timeframe. OVH also said it would not provide compensation because its IP reputation “is not guaranteed by OVHcloud.” The ticket was marked resolved while my questions were still unanswered, and the notices said it would be automatically closed if I did not respond within seven days.
I felt that the impact on my work and the information I provided were not properly addressed. I can’t recommend OVH when it says its IP reputation “is not guaranteed” and has not offered a solution despite the impact on my email and business. The way this has been handled has left me feeling that the effect on my work was not taken seriously.
