Great company with very reliable service and extremely helpful, friendly support I've been hosting websites and email at GearHost since 2004, and over all of that time, they have consistently delivered a great, stable, feature rich product at great price, with excellent customer support.
I used to occasionally host some additional web sites with some other vendors, but I've pretty much stopped doing that because I've been spoiled by this company and how well they have always treated me! The "customer support" that I had experienced at the other hosting companies was next to non-existent, so I was pleasantly surprised with how quick, friendly, and helpful GearHost has always been.
I was shocked to see some of the other negative reviews here, because they just don't line up with my experiences at all. To address a few of the points in the negative reviews: Yes, particularly earlier on, I had a few minor outages, but in the last several years, I really haven't had any problems at all; I've had some regularly used sites and/or services running with no significant problems or downtime at all. I don't recall ever being forced to migrate to a new server or service, and to the contrary, I've had some sites that I've left running on the older plans for years, even though I suspect that they would have loved for me to have moved off of the older plans. Whenever there has been some sort of upgrade to a service that might pose a risk of a brief outage, they have always informed me ahead of time. I have occasionally used the chat service to ask some questions. Based on my experiences with other companies, I expected to be handed off and bounced around between different clueless support people, where every issue takes hours to resolve, and every sentence takes 5 more minutes to respond, as if they are juggling 20 people at the same time. But to my surprise, at GearHost, I actually talk to a real person that is knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. (And, sometimes, that support person is Ryan, the CEO and founder!)
